DAY 1: CAPE TOWN
Welcome to Cape Town!

Upon your arrival in Cape Town International Airport, you will be greeted by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel in the vibrant V&A Waterfront area of Cape Town's harbour.

A magical, five-star premium hotel towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City.

The Silo Hotel has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex occupying six floors above Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) which houses Africa’s largest collection of contemporary African art.

After check in you can relax at the hotel. Enjoy Sundowners on the sixth floor of the hotel in The Willaston Bar. The iconic bar is named after the first ship to export grain from the original silo complex back in 1924.

With stunning views of Cape Town through the 5,5m high pillowed glass windows, there is no better place to enjoy a classic cocktail or a glass of wine from the carefully crafted and ever evolving list of local and international wines.

DAY 2: CAPE TOWN
Set off at your leisure for a Full Day, Privately Guided Cape Point & Peninsula Tour. Cape Town is a colourful and vibrant city surrounded by dramatic mountains and sandy beaches. It is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in the world – presided over by one of the 7 Natural Wonders of The World – Table Mountain.

The magic of Cape Town lies in the collision of natural wonder, diverse cultures, art, design, and a thriving food and wine scene.

With your home-away-from home, The Silo, located in the heart of the Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront your choice of dining options is unparalleled on the African Continent.

What better way to start your gourmet itinerary than with an Art & Wine pairing followed by dinner at Luke Dale-Roberts’ The Test Kitchen – South Africa’s top restaurant and one of the 50 best restaurants in the world. (Reservations required!)

DAY 3: CAPE TOWN
We will arrange a Full Day, Privately Guided Tour of Cape Town City, Table Mountain & Robben Island.

The tour commences with a ferry trip across the bay to Robben Island. (Please note, this is Weather Permitting!) From the 17th to the 20th centuries, Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment, most notably for Nelson Mandela. Today Robben Island is a World Heritage Site and Museum, a poignant reminder of the price paid for freedom. The excursion includes a return ferry to the island, a bus tour on the island and walking tour of the prison.

After a moving experience on Robben Island, return to the mainland for a tour of the South African Museum and Castle of Good Hope. Alternatively, take a privately guided tour of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

End the afternoon with a visit to the iconic Table Mountain, Cape Town’s treasured landmark. Once again, Weather Permitting, you will have a Private Cape Town Guide on tour with you, adding details of the truly local traditions and folklore.

Once again, in the evening, upon return, enjoy pre-arranged dining at Cape Town’s finest restaurants of your choice.

DAY 6: SABI SAND PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
This morning, after Breakfast, you will depart Franschhoek and be driven back to Cape Town
International Airport. Here you will catch a short flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Upon arrival, you will be met by a representative from your Lodge and enjoy a short Game Drive en route to the Lion Sands River Lodge. There is always something to see in the African Bush!

Lion Sands River Lodge is situated in the Lion Sands Game Reserve. The River Lodge is the very heart and soul of the Lions Sands Game Reserve area in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve – one of Africa’s truly unspoiled wilderness areas. Here the private Sabi Sand Game Reserve meets the world-renowned Kruger National Park.

The Lion Sands is one of the best places to go on Safari in South Africa, with excellent chances of seeing all of “The Big Five” - Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, Elephant, and Rhino). The region is particularly renowned for its Big Cat Sightings.

DAY 7: SABI SAND PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Some of the best Game Viewing begins a dawn, as the night shift turns over to the day shift in the Wild.

Rise at sunrise to head into the wild on your Private African Safari with your Field Guide and Tracker.

Two safaris take place each day – in the Morning and Late Afternoon (moving into the early evening). This is when the wildlife is most active, and the temperature more moderate. Morning Drives feature “Coffee in the Bush”. While Evening Drives offer “Sundowners in the Wild”.

As Lion Sands forms part of the greater Sabi Sand Reserve, which is continuous with the Kruger National Park, Safaris can be taken off-road in certain instances – dependent on bush conditions and specific sightings. With a limited number of vehicles on each property, and strict criteria governing sightings, guests are able to spend extended periods of time watching wildlife in its natural habitat.

DAY 8: SABI SAND PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Walking in the Bush!

Getting off the vehicle and walking allows you to reconnect with nature. It allows you to understand the complex symbiotic relationships between each plant, animal, and yourself. Most people come away from Bush Walks with a deeper appreciation of the African bush.

All walks are custom-tailored to your fitness level and interests. In the Summer at Kruger National Park, due to the heat, walks may become part of the Morning Game Drive, with the dew still glistening on the African Bushveld.

For more details about the Adventures of Bushwalking, please see our article here.

Get ready to truly experience the African Wildlife!

DAY 9: END OF ITINERARY
This is the last morning of your holiday in South Africa and after one last Morning Game Drive, you will be driven back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for your return flight.
