Thanks to my wonderful husband, a few years ago we had the privilege of staying at the historic Cavalry and Guards Club in London.

A reciprocal of the Army Navy Club in Washington, DC, the Cavalry and Guards Club is a “Gentlemen’s Club” Notable members include King Abdullah of Jordan, the Sultan of Brunei, and Prince William.

Insider scoop: The Club is truly a “Gentlemen’s Club”. Women aren’t allowed in Geoffery’s Bar until after 6:00 pm.

I simply loved my Ranger Rick magazines as a child. I (briefly) contemplated being a US Parks Service Ranger when taking Forestry in High School. (And, probably would have been the ONLY USPS Ranger who was a former "Forest Festival Queen"!!!) While that career path really wasn't for me - my passion for wildlife (& esp my precious Rhinos!) was fueled at an early age thanks to Ranger Rick. #ThrowBackThursday - Hatari! The Movie, 1962

"Hatari!" means "danger" in Swahili! There are so many great shots in this film, I had to post more than one! Movie trivia, Henry Mancini wrote "The Baby Elephant Walk" for "Hatari!" And, The Duke did ALL of his own stunts for the film! The context of the film, trapping wild animals to sell to zoos, if taken in regard to the times, in my opinion, shows a step toward today's conservation movement. Click here for film description.
