Important Reports from the Field:
· For the Great Migration this year, the optimal time will be July through early August 2023. The Kenyan rains have started already this year and are heavy. It is highly unusual to have heavy rains this early. So, the migration back to the Serengeti will most likely take place by mid-August.
· Currently, almost all other National Parks and Game Reserves are booked during the Great Migration. We can still book a package to include Samburu, maximizing your time in Kenya.
· Mara Elatia is still privately owned, thus does not have a website. Please find pictures of this exclusive, privately owned camp below.
Maasai Mara Game Reserve, so named to mean the “spotted plains” in Maa language. This is home to the greatest concentration of Large Mammals and is widely recognized as Africa’s ultimate Wildlife Reserve. The park is famous for its annual migration of Wildebeest.
During your stay, you have the opportunity to explore this great Game Reserve in depth. You may see Elephant, Giraffe, Prides of Lion, and thousands of Impala, Topi, Grants and Thomson's Gazelle. Birds are prolific, including migrating birds. 450 bird species have been recorded - among them 57 Birds of Prey.
