DAY 1: Transfer from Gqeberha (previously named Port Elizabeth) and arrive at Kwantu Game Reserve

Today, upon landing in Cape Town, you will transfer to catch a flight to Gqeberha. Upon landing, you will be welcomed by a guide and driven to Kwantu Private Game Reserve.

Your arrival will be welcomed and you have time to settle in before heading out on your first afternoon Game Drive. The next three days will be spent on an exciting Safari Adventure, discovering the amazing wildlife of South Africa.

Set on 6000 hectares and surrounding the town of Sidbury, this unspoilt Malaria free Bushveld offers visitors the promise of an exciting adventure over rolling plains under our African skies.

Kwantu is situated approximately 85km from Gqeberha on The N2 towards Grahamstown. Kwantu’s wildlife (The Big 5) ranges from the great African Elephants, White Rhino, Giraffe, Buffalo, Leopard, Lion, Zebra and many species of antelope that roam the famous Sidbury Plains. An abundance of game awaits you.

Over 200 species of birds entertain visitors with a dazzling display of colours and sound. The Reserve offers various offerings and facilities. Your day visits and overnight accommodation affords you a delightful stay of bush elegance, style and luxury.

15h00-15h30 After settling into your home for the next few days, enjoy welcoming snacks and beverages and do a short Kwantu Game Reserve Orientation

16h00-17h30 Depart on an introductory Game Drive in one of our specially equipped game viewers accompanied by our experienced Game Rangers where you will most likely see most of our species such as Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo, Lions, Bushbuck and an abundance of more African Flora and Fauna.

17h30-19h00 At leisure/ Visit Kwantu’s Entertainment Centre/ Business Centre/ Sporting Facilities

19h00-20h30 Enjoy a tantalizing 3-course meal with an Eastern Flavour

DAY 2:

07h30-09h00 Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Kwantu Game Reserve Day Centre area

09h30-12h30 Depart on a 3-hour Game Drive in one of our specially equipped game viewers accompanied by our experienced Game Rangers where you will most likely see most of our species such as Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Hippo, Lions and Cubs, Bushbuck and an abundance of other wildlife.

13h00-14h30 Lunch will be served

15h30-17h00 Depart for a late afternoon bush experience, to track animals, and be entertained by the Game Ranger.

17h30-19h00 At leisure/ Visit our Entertainment Centre/ Business Centre/ Sporting Facilities

19h30-21h00 A 3-5 course dinner will be served

15h30-17h00 Depart for our Predator Educational and Rehabilitation Centre where guests will learn about Wildlife Conservation of : Lions, Cheetahs, Tigers, and many more.
Please note: Kwantu Private Game Reserve has a strict and Sustainable Wildlife Policy. In line with this, Kwantu does not allow nor engage in any type of animal interaction and/or riding.

After a day full of excitement; guests can relax, refresh and recharge in the Kwantu Lounge, overlooking the waterhole or unwind alongside the pool with a favourite book. Children, as well as adults, are welcome to the Tennis Courts, Cricket Field, and kids playing area with kids playing facilities. DAYS 4 - 8, CAPE TOWN

DAY 4, continued:
Today, upon landing back in Cape Town, you will be welcomed by one of our drivers and driven into the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town and the beautiful Taj Cape Town Hotel.

Taj Cape Town - located in the centre of historic Cape Town -  welcomes guests to the vibrant heart of one of the world's most scenic and desirable cities. The hotel is a combination of rich history and elegant contemporary architecture. Originally home to the South African Reserve Bank and Temple Chambers, it successfully combines the heritage of the old with the luxury of the new.

Cape Town is a colourful and vibrant city surrounded by dramatic mountains and sandy beaches. It is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in the world – presided over by one of the 7 Natural Wonders of The World – Table Mountain. The magic of Cape Town lies in the collision of natural wonder, diverse cultures. Cape Malay, Dutch, and British Cultures combine to create a unique art, design and food scene.

DAY 5:
Full Day Robben Island and Cape Town City

Today you will explore the beautiful city of Cape Town including highlights such as Robben Island where former President Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years and a trip in the Cable Car up iconic Table Mountain.

The tour commences with a ferry trip across the bay to Robben Island. (Weather permitting). From the 17th to the 20th centuries, Robben Island served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment. Today it is a World Heritage Site and museum, a poignant reminder of the price paid for freedom. The excursion includes a return ferry to the island, a bus tour on the island and of the prison.

Upon return to the mainland, proceed to the Company Gardens located in the heart of the central business district. Enjoy a walk through the garden and a visit to the South African Museum. This is followed by a visit to the Castle of Good Hope – the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa.

The drive through the City Centre would also take you past the Houses of Parliament, the Grand Parade and City Hall from where Nelson Mandela first addressed South Africans after his release in February 1990.

Continue to Table Mountain where you shall reach the top by cable car.*. Enjoy the panoramic views over the city with Robben Island lying sleepily in Table Bay. Also, get a bird’s eye view over the Atlantic Seaboard.

Return to your hotel by 17h30 Relax for the evening, dine at one of Cape Town’s fabulous restaurants, or enjoy an evening walk at the Cape Town Harbor.

*Weather permitting – Table Mountain is closed during Cape Town’s infamous high winds!

DAY 6:
Full Day Cape Point and Peninsula

On this day you will explore the scenic region of the Cape Peninsula to see the famous Cape Point Lighthouse and African penguins on Boulders Beach.

This awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point encompasses magnificent beaches, breath-taking views, and picturesque coastal villages.

Travel along the Atlantic Seaboard via Sea Point, Clifton and Camps Bay, to Hout Bay, a quaint village and fishing harbour with magnificent mountain views and beach. Continue via Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breath-taking coastal drives, to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point which is perceived to be the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

Go on to historic Simon’s Town, a village with charming Victorian architecture, a naval base and a large penguin colony at the beautiful Boulders Beach. Boulders Penguin Colony is home to a growing colony of the vulnerable African Penguin. Wooden walkways allow visitors to view the penguins in their natural habitat and there is also a new information centre.

After a lunch stop is made nearby, end the day with a visit to the well-known Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. The Garden includes five of South Africa’s seven different biomes and is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape Flora it displays as well as for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.

The tour ends at about 17:30, with drop-off at your hotel.

So much more than just an African restaurant, a night at GOLD is an immersive experience that will take you on a 14-dish taste-safari paired with traditional Mali puppets and entertainment. DAY 7:

Today is yours to spend at leisure - perhaps enjoy some shopping one of Cape Towns Boutique shops, with goods and baskets from all across Africa. Or, at the V&A Shopping Centre in the harbor waterfront. Book yourself in for a spa treatment!
