After early Morning wakeup with Rusks & Coffee, head to Namib-Naukluft National Park. Photograph the “Namib Sand Sea” as it sparkles in the Sunrise. World-famous Sossusvlei is the name of an enormous Clay Pan, flanked by a field of famous towering Sand Dunes that flush red in the early Morning Sun. Close to the Sossusvlei Pan is Dead Vlei, another Pan where water once flowed. However, all that remains now are the skeletons of Camel Thorn Trees that reach up out of the cracked Earth. Little Kulala’s Exclusive-use Gate provides direct access at Sunrise to the renowned Dunes of Sossusvlei and the evocative panoramas of Dead Vlei.

Twyfelfontein

Set in the Kunene Region of northwestern Namibia, Twyfelfontein is a spectacularly scenic area, featuring one of the largest and most important concentrations of Rock Art in Africa. ‘Twyfelfontein’ translates to ‘Fountain of Doubt’, which refers to the perennial spring situated in the impressive Huab Valley, flanked by the slopes of a Sandstone Table Mountain.

It was this spring that attracted Stone Age Hunters over 6,000 years ago. During this time the extensive group of Rock Engravings and Paintings were produced. There are  over 30 different Sacred Ritual Sites of the traditional Hunter-Gatherer Communities.

Mowani Mountain Camp

Derived from Swahili, "M'Wane, meaning "Place of God", the name was chosen to reflect the Camp's serene, almost spiritual setting in Damaraland, Namibia.

Dwarfed by massive Ochre Boulders, the Camp is absorbed into the landscape, making it one with our shared History of Life in this Prehistoric Land. Every soft curve or ragged edge frames the landscape differently, as if you are seeing it for the first time, every time.

With only 15 thatched roof, tented Chalets, each opens up to take in the magnificent Views. Although the evening breeze keeps the Camp cooled at Night, there is Air-Conditioning and Fans in each Chalet. The Chalets have a view either across the Valley or over a Boulder-Strewn Valley.

After a day of Travel, settle into your room. You may request Sundowners in your Room, privately enjoying the Sunset. Or join others at the special Sunset View. Then, join others for a delicious African Dinner.

Day 5

Start out early for a Morning Nature Drive. Explore this ancient and arid Landscape, searching for Iconic Photographs and Desert Adapted Flora and Fauna, especially the Namibian Desert-Adapted Elephants.

In the Afternoon, either Rest or go on a Self-Guided Nature Walk. Explore the local area around Mowani Mountain by taking one of the short Walking Trails around the Camp.
