Day 1

Welcome to South Africa! You will be warmly welcomed by Your Personal Greeter/Concierge at your Flight's Arrival Gate. They will assist you with Fast Track Immigration, your Luggage, and Customs. Your Private Transfer to Franschhoek, will give you time to relax after your long flight. After Check-in Shower, Relax, or Stroll Franschhoek. The Hotel can give you nearby Dinning suggestions. Rest well for your first full day of Wine Tasting.

Franschhoek

Franschhoek Wine Valley, also known as the “Valley of Dreams”, is situated in the southeast corner of Paarl. Founded by exiled Huguenots in the late 1600’s, Franschhoek retains much of its French viticultural roots. The terroir is ideally suited to the production of heavy, robust Red Wines.

Days 2 & 3

Full Days Wine Tours with Wine Escapes.

After Breakfast at your Hotel, your Wine Escapes Guide will meet you to begin your Wine Tastings. Each day you will visit three Wineries and have full Wine Tastings, guided by an expert Wine Guide.

Focusing on your preferred Wines, Wine Escapes prides itself in offering interactive, informative, and enjoyable days in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl, as you learn about South Africa’s spectacular Wine Regions.

The Stellenbosch Wine Route is the oldest Wine Route in South Africa. Approximately 30 miles from Cape Town, Stellenbosch is home to over 200 Wine and Grape Producers.

Your Guide will help you pick the best places for your Lunches, on own, during your full days of Wine Tasting.

Day 4

After a hardy African Breakfast, set out on your Private Transfer to Kagga Kamma Nature Reserve, nestled in the Cedarburg Mountains. Your Road Trip will take approximately 3–4.5 hours, arriving at in time for Lunch.

Cedarburg Mountains

The Cederberg Mountains are a stunning natural feature located in the Western Cape Province. The Mountains are home to a unique ecosystem, characterized by rugged cliffs, rocky outcrops, and sweeping valleys. The region is known for its rich biodiversity, with a variety of plant and animal species thriving in the mountainous terrain.

South Africa's Western Cape forms part of the Cape Floral Region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the World's 6 Floral Kingdoms. Cederberg Mountains, as part of an estimated 9,000+ in the broader Cape Floristic Region, have around 280 endemic to the Cederberg specifically. Here you will find Flora such as the Critically Endangered Clanwilliam Cedar, the rare, High-Altitude Snow Protea, and rare Rock Succulents.

Unique Fauna Includes:

Mammals: Cape Mountain Zebra (vulnerable, one of the smallest Zebra Subspecies, regionally endemic), Klipspringer, Grey Rhebok, Common Duiker, Cape Grysbok, Chacma Baboon, Rock Hyrax (Dassie), Leopard, Caracal, Bat-Eared Fox, Cape Fox, and smaller species like Honey Badger and Porcupine.

Reptiles: Armadillo Girdled Lizard (endemic) and Southern Speckled Padloper (rare Tortoise). And a rare Gecko (Phyllodactylus microlepidotus).

Fish: Eight endemic, threatened Species in the Olifants River system (e.g., Clanwilliam Yellowfish, Clanwilliam Redfin, Riery Redfin, Sawfin, and Rock Catfishes). These are highly localized and vulnerable.

Birds: Over 100 species, including Black (Verreaux's) Eagle, Rock Kestrel, Jackal Buzzard, Black Harrier, Cape Rockjumper, Cape Eagle-Owl, and Cinnamon-Breasted Warbler.
